Cycled through uncharted territory and discovered new locales. Telegraph Bay, Cadboro Bay, Beach Drive to Uplands Park, Willows Park, Oak Bay Marina, Trafalgar Park, Ross Bay Cemetery, Clover Point, Beacon Hill Park, Dallas Point, the Inner Harbour. Followed the coast, battled the winds, took the scenic route.
Define 'intrepid'.
Ice cream is a mandatory requirement for adventure. Especially topped with hot fudge, sprinkles, whipped cream and a cherry.
Mountaineering. Scrambling through the undergrowth, scaling a hill of ferns, clinging to cliff faces and lying amongst the tiny alpine flowers, three oranges for company. Sea on all sides, snow capped mountains beyond.
Walking along the seaside feels more like home than places I have given the moniker of 'home town' for two decades. The sea is in my blood. And in my hair colour.
Leaving soon. No more sunshine and sea breeze. Back to desolate plains and winter, a place whose only recommendation lies in the fact that it is three thousand feet closer to space.

And Hope Still...
I know next to nothing about weapons, especially guns (which is pretty unfortunate as there are a lot of them in this book), so I wasn't aware that machine guns weren't that accurate.
Also the fact they have a big kick back might not be too handy if they're standing on a roof... hmmm...
OK they mostly had the machine guns because they would make a bigger impact and they are trying to prove they're serious.
It also felt like it was more dramatic to have them using machine guns and almost crushing the car with so many buillets, and imapct is what thye're after (and what I want to get people interested at the start of the novel)
Right I also see your point about why they leave the guns lying there (and actually considering this is a totalatarian/surveillance society they might well have their finger prints)
Anyway the reasoning was that they have to get off the roofs without dying and as fast as possible.
But maybe you're right, they probably wouldn't be so keen to throw their weapons (and bullets for that matter) away....
OK you've given me absolutely tonnes to think about. Thank you so much! And yeah I would definitely love to read the second part of your story.
Hey, any chance you'd be interested in telling me what you think of some more of mine.
Thank you so much again!
